Londonderry, NH, December 21, 2022 – For the past 11 years, Liberty New Hampshire employees have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure underprivileged children in the community have presents to open during the holiday season. This year, more than 200 children and young adults from the Salvation Army, The Nashua Children’s Home, and the Greater Salem, Manchester and Derry Boys & Girls Clubs will have gifts under the tree as part of Liberty’s Giving Tree program.

“The giving tree program started with just the Salem Boys and Girls Club in 2011. After seeing all the good that was done, it made us realize there were other organizations right here in our service territories that needed our help, especially during the holiday season” said Jill Fitzpatrick, Liberty employee, creator, and chair of the Giving Tree program. “No child should think they weren’t good because they don’t a present to open.”

In addition to wrapped gifts, employees donated $970 in gift cards to David’s House in Lebanon, NH. This establishment provides a home-away-from-home and support for families with critically ill children receiving treatment from Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital.

“This program is something that is near and dear to our hearts” said Neil Proudman, President of Liberty New Hampshire. “When you start seeing young children asking for basic necessities, like a winter coat or mittens, you know you need to do more. That is when we decided that, in addition to granting the children their wish list items, Liberty would donate an additional $1,000 to each organization. It is our hope that the additional money gifted to these organizations will ensure the children have the items they need, even beyond the holiday season.”
