LONDONDERRY, NH, December 20, 2019 – Every year during the holidays, over a dozen Liberty Utilities employees donate their time and volunteer at St. John’s Food Pantry in Hudson, NH. Liberty Utilities has a policy that allows employees to spend three days a year volunteering in the communities it serves.

On November 22nd and December 13th, Liberty employees spent the day at the pantry to prepare for the holidays. They helped by picking up food from local stores, shopped for supplies that were running low and packed meal boxes to be distributed to local families in need.

“We have a long-standing relationship with St. John’s Food Pantry, and this time of year they need all the help they can get,” said Susan Fleck, President, Liberty Utilities – NH. “The individuals who run the pantry know they can count on our employees to lend a hand whenever they need additional help.”

The St. John’s Food Pantry is sustained solely by donations and volunteer efforts, so without the generosity of local residents and businesses, many Hudson families would not have a place to go for food, toiletries and other essential items. “I am so grateful for all of Liberty’s help during the holidays,” said Pauline Boisvert, Director, St. John’s Food Pantry. “The employees who volunteer are always willing to do as much work as I need done, and this is above and beyond tasks for the holidays. Liberty really has assembled a great team for us.”

Between the two volunteer days before Thanksgiving and Christmas, Liberty employees donate just under 100 hours to the panty. “It really is incredible to see how many employees want to help out,” said Fleck. “We look forward to working with St. John’s and other establishments in the communities we serve for many years to come.”
