Home Energy Performance Program

The Home Energy Performance Program takes a holistic approach to saving energy in your home. ENERGY STAR^® estimates that you can save up to 20% on heating and cooling costs by adding insulation to the walls, basement, pipes, attic, attic stairs, crawl space and rim joists in your home.*

Sign up for the HEP program and an energy expert will come to your home and perform an energy audit that includes diagnostic testing for air and duct leakage. If you decide to move forward with the program, you are also eligible to receive:

• A rebate of 100% of the installed cost of air sealing in your home*
• A rebate of 75% of the installed cost of insulation
• 2% financing through select local financial institutions
• 0% on bill financing available through Liberty Utilities

Homes heated with oil, propane, wood, natural gas, kerosene, or electricity may qualify.

*$6,000 MAXIMUM for air sealing and insulation combined.  

Getting Started

It all starts when you complete the Home Heating Index application at www.NHSaves.com/homeheating. You’ll get customized results for your home and heating situation. If you qualify for the program, the site will display a link to an enrollment application and instructions. For details visit http://www.nhsaves.com/hpwes.

Program applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rebates are limited and available to qualifying applications until the program budget is depleted.
