Training and Qualifications - Residential - New Hampshire Gas - Liberty

Training & Qualifications

All of our crews, inspectors, supervisors, engineers and anyone else who is directly involved with work that is done on our natural gas distribution system must have Operator Qualifications (OQs). OQs are federal codes that must be renewed every one to three years.

In addition to federal codes, Liberty must abide by NH codes. The state of NH has some of the strictest safety codes in the country. To ensure we are following Federal and State codes, the New Hampshire Public Utility Commission (NHPUC) frequently comes to job sites to inspect our work.

Liberty also does additional training. One type of training done at Liberty Utilities is called Annual Expert Training. This is done once a year during winter months when construction slows down. During the training, managers and supervisors will review findings from inspections that can be improved upon.
