Winter Disconnect Information
If your natural gas or electric service was disconnected due to nonpayment between April 15 and October 15, you may be able to make arrangements to have service restored if you can show proof of financial hardship or a medical emergency. A financial hardship can be present if you or someone in your household is currently enrolled in a low-income assistance program that’s based on a written confirmation of household financial eligibility. This includes enrollment in;
- Electric Assistance
- Fuel Assistance
- Neighbor Helping Neighbor
- Other state, federal, or local social service program designed to help income eligible households
A medical emergency can exist when your licensed physician or mental health practitioner can certify you have a physical or mental health condition that would become a danger to your physical or mental health without utility service.
If you believe you meet these qualifications, contact Liberty at 1-800-833-4200 for natural gas or 1-800-375-7413 for electric service. You may also contact the Consumer Affairs Division of the Department of Energy at 1-800-852-3793. For information about financial assistance programs, follow the links below.
